What is the soap made of? What is the Soap Base made of? What are the other additives? These are three common questions our customer most interest.
And here is the answers 🙂
1. What is the soap made of?
To make our soaps we use soap base, transparent or white. This soap making process called Melt and Pour method.
2. What is the Soap Base made of?
The soap base is made using 100% Organic Oils of Coconut and Palm, and the soap base is manufactured in Malaysia.
Soap base ingredients:
Generic name: Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Palm Oil, Glycerine (vegetable), Purified Water, Sodium Hydroxide (saponifying agent), Sorbitol (moisturizer), Sorbitan oleate (emulsifier), Oat protein (conditioner)
Organic Cocos Nucifera Oil, Organic Elaeis Guineensis Oil, Glycerin, Aqua/Water/Eau, Sodium Hydroxide, Sorbitol, Sorbitan Oleate, Avena Sativa Protein Extract
Note: This list of ingredients, provided to us by the soap base manufacturer and have not been independently verified by us.
These soap bases are free of PARABEN, TRICLOSAN, and there are no animal ingredients. No added alcohol or alcohol fragrance.
3. What are the other additives?
What are the other additives?
We use organic herbal powders or cosmetic clays, and also skin-friendly soap colourings, for scents we use alcohol-free aromatic fragrance oils.
4. Soap Colouring
We use natural clay, herbal powders and oxides (which are all-natural colourants from the earth), this colouring option produces rustic and earthy colours, as this is a natural ingredient it has bits and particles so the colours not very smooth and sometime got dots and discolouration.
The colours of these powders vary from batch to batch so there is always a small difference in colours from previous orders.
Mostly these colours selected when choosing garden/rustic theme with herbal toppings.
The best scents & colours that would fit the rustic theme is:
– French pink clay go good with rose, rosewood or geranium (topping rose buds)
– Yellowish is with jasmine or chamomile powder and scents jasmine, chamomile (topping calendula petals)
– blue clay and some milled lavender for lavender scent (topping lavender) or soap can be rustic purple
– green is with mint powder good with bergamot or kaffir lime (topping calendula petals)
– milky cream can be almond milk and vanilla or oat and honey (topping oat)
– black (charcoal) with white swirl, scented with cedarwood, lavender, kaffir lime, bergamot
(calendula or rose topping)
Soap colouring (not food colour) available in primary colours such as: red, blue, yellow and green, from these, we create shades and colours as per mix in the rainbow.
These colours mostly used in transparent soap, and in solid soap for pastel colours. These colours no possible to make dark deep colours.
Shiny Mica Powder Pigment made from natural mica, we use it to make gemstone soaps and shimmer some soaps surfaces to enhance appearance (especially on the pattern), most of it does not give soap shine effect when used in it for colouring, so we don’t use it to colour our soaps.
5. Soap Fragrance
– Vanilla (turns brown)
– Kaffir Lime
– Apple Blossom
Aromatic Fragrance Oil made from the natural aromatic compound and synthetic fragrance materials safe for direct skin application.
The soap does not have any therapeutic benefits, as it’s made as gift favour for everyone to use. It’s a generic soap with washing property.
Note: some fragrances are colouring soaps to different shades, for now, we know only one and its VANILLA scent, it makes soap dark brown in colour. So if the vanilla scent was chosen please be aware of the colour changes.
For VANILLA fragrance we recommend go for its natural brownish colour to avoid disappointment, as mixing with other colours is a mystery to us.
6. Soap Decoration
Herbal topping tends to discolouration/fade over some time, especially roses… colour fade in 3 weeks, brown colouring forms where soap touches herbals (normal reaction due to components and also heat exposure when packing with heat gun, think of it as when you making hot tea, the herbs release the brownish colour – same effect on soap).
Do not order herbal topping if you plan to keep soap for more then 6 weeks before the event. It’s not expired but herbs colours are faded, except you like faded/rustic style.
The roses colours are always random depend on supplies. We will use whichever we got in stock. Calendula petals also, sometimes orange sometimes yellow.
